Medical college held a laboratory safety work meeting on the afternoon of May 31st. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Li Wei and attended by the school leaders, head of Comprehensive Office, head of Student Affairs Office, directors in charge of laboratory safety of the department and their counselors, and safety personnel from various teaching and research laboratories. The meeting was divided into three agenda items: the spirit of laboratory safety work at the school and the current situation of laboratory safety at our college, the signing ceremony of laboratory safety responsibility and commitment documents, and speeches by the leadership.

During the first agenda item of the meeting, Mr. Xu Jinxin, head of the Comprehensive Office of our college, reported on two aspects related to laboratory safety: the laboratory safety work at the school and the laboratory safety situation at our college. He emphasized the importance of laboratory safety and pointed out the safety problems found during laboratory safety inspections at our college. He hoped that all laboratories would timely rectify their safety management practices based on the laboratory safety regulations, so as to eliminate potential safety hazards in the laboratories.

The second agenda item of the meeting was the signing ceremony of laboratory safety responsibility and commitment documents. Secretary Wang Qinglin, Vice President Li Wei, and several teachers including Qian Yayun, Lu Feng, Chu Chunmin, Wang Jiacheng, Pan Bo, Yu Hongyan, Xu Zhuobin, Xi Juqun, etc. each signed the laboratory safety responsibility and commitment documents.

The third agenda item of the meeting,  secretary Wang Qinglin, combined with Secretary Jiao Xin'an's "four further" actions at the school safety work meeting, namely further strengthening safety awareness, implementing safety responsibilities, further strengthening safety standard management, and further improving emergency response systems and mechanisms. He hopes to improve his political stance, bottom line awareness, and red line awareness in the specific implementation of laboratory safety work in the future; Strengthen the performance of duties and fulfill responsibilities, implement the requirement of "managing oneself well and keeping an eye on oneself", and every teacher and student is the person responsible for laboratory safety. Strengthen the management of laboratory access control, and prevent any potential problems before they occur.

Towards the end of the laboratory safety work meeting, Vice President Li Wei emphasized that all laboratory safety directors of the teaching and research laboratories in the college should promptly convey the spirit of this safety work meeting to the laboratory staff and students. They should also rectify the problems found during previous laboratory safety inspections, ensure a closed loop for time and space safety and emergency management, and work together with the teachers and students of the college to create a safe and stable laboratory environment.
